It's time for a new challenge over on the Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog! This is a Anything Goes Christmas Challenge blog! Challenges are posted on the first day of each odd month and run to the 15th of the following month. It's a great opportunity to jump start on your Christmas cards! You can find the challenge details HERE.

I created a Christmas Shaker card using the NEW Snowflake Circle Cover Plate, Peace and Shadow die and the Wishing You mini stamp set from Gina K. Designs.

Card Measurements:
White A2 Top Fold Card Base: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" (4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2")
Holographic Panel: 3 3/4" x 5" - Master Layout 1
Snowflake Circle Cover Plate Panel: 3 1/2" x 4 3/4"
Acetate Panel" 3 7/16" x 4 11/16"
Black Sentiment Strip: 2 1/2" x 1/4"
Peace: 2 1/2" x 1 1/2" (approx)

Steps To Create Card:
  • Create White A2 Top Fold Card Base: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" (4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2").
  • Cut Holographic  Panel with Master Layout 1: 3 1/2" x 4 3/4"
  • Cut Layering Weight White Panel: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and ink blend the entire panel with Plum Punch ink. Then with a light hand add Blue Denim around the edges for richness.
  • Die cut ink blended panel with the Snowflake Circle Cover Plate. Panel size: 3 1/2" x 4 3/4".
  • Cut Acetate panel: 3 7/16" x 4 11/16".
  • Assemble Shaker Window (Snowflake Cover Plate Panel & Acetate) and add foam tape.
  • Assemble Card: Attach Holographic panel to white card base, add shaker bits in a single layer and adhere Shaker window to the card base.
  • Stamp and emboss sentiment on black card stock and emboss with white embossing powder.
  • Cut out three Peace word dies (1 holographic and 2 white), next stack and glue them together to create an embellishment.
  • Add Peace and sentiment strip to your card.
  • For embellishments I added a large Rhinestone to the snowflake center.

I created a mini slimline card featuring the Peace Love and Joy mini stamp set and a sentiment from the Perfect Poinsettia stamp set by Gina K. Designs.

I started off with a panel of Tranquil Teal card stock cut down to a mini slimline sized panel (2 7/8" x 5 7/8") before I stamped the snowflake image in both corners and embossed with gold embossing powder. I then used Tranquil Teal and Blue Denim (with a very light hand) and ink blended the outer edges. This is what adds the richness to the layers. The gold mats were created with layering white card stock that I inked the edges with embossing ink and embossed with the same gold embossing powder. This is a trick to saving gold card stock and getting all your gold accents to coordinate on your project. For embellishment I added a few gold pearls. All supplies used are listed below.

Card Measurements:
White Mini Slimline Card Base: 3 1/2" x 6 1/2"
Gold Mat: 3" x 6" - Master Layout 7
Tranquil Teal Panel: 2 7/8" x 3 7/8" - Master Layout 7
Gold Rectangle Mat: 2 1/8" x 2 7/8" - Master Layout 7
Stitched Rectangle: 2" x 2 3/4" - Master Layout 7
Gold Circle Mat: 2 1/4" - Master Layout 3
Tranquil Teal Stitched Circle: 2 1/8" - Master Layout 3

I'm excited to announce that I'm joining the Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog design team!! This is a Anything Goes Christmas Challenge blog! Challenges are posted on the first day of each odd month and run to the 15th of the following month. I think this is a great opportunity to jump start my mojo and start building a stash of Christmas cards! You can find the challenge details HERE.

My card features the Wonder of Christmas and Holiday Greetings stamp sets from Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps. I stamped the images with alcohol friendly ink and used copic marker to color. I then cut the images out with the coordinating die set and created a little scene on my card front. To finish off the card I added a red frame using Kat Scrappiness NEW A2 Frames die set, stamped a sentiment, and added a few sequins for embellishment.

Card Measurements:
White A2 Top Fold Card Base: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" (4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2")
Red Frame: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" x 1/4"

Copic Markers:
Pinecone: E44, E43 (added sparkle with Spectrum Noir Clear)
Greenery: YG93
