Hello and Welcome!

Today Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps is joining forces with My Sweet Petunia for an awesome blog hop and giveaway!  There's a chance to win a $50 gift code to each shop, so we hope you'll join the fun and hop along with us! To be eligible for the drawing, leave a little shout out in the comments at each stop along the hop.

For my project today I'm using the Mini Misti along with the NEW Back to School and School Days Alpha stamp sets.

First thing I like to do is load up my Mini Misti with the stamps I plan to use.  If you've never used one...this is a MUST HAVE tool and I will show you why.

I don't know about you but I was wasting a lot of paper when stamping with blocks and not getting a perfect inking.  I love having the ability to re-stamp an image.  I actually stamped the second one a total of three times as I wanted a crisp dark black image to color. You can also color your images and put it back in your Misti for a final stamp if you don't move any of the stamps on the door and line it back up.  I find this helpful when using color pencils as sometimes it will dull the inking.

Next I colored the images with copic markers and decided to create some fun Lunch Box Notes that you can tuck into your kids lunch boxes & backpacks to let them know that you are thinking of them.  They measure 3.75 Square.

To create the chalkboard background I stamped the "Aa" with embossing/watermark ink and heat embossed with detail white embossing powder.  I then took a white pigment ink pad and a swiffer cloth and applied the ink to the black card stock until I got the desired look.  I then took the images I colored and fussy cut them out.  I created the three cards below. These could also be made into a card set for a teacher gift.

Gina K. Designs and My Sweet Petunia Blog Hop

Hello and Welcome
to the Gina K. Designs and My Sweet Petunia Blog Hop!!
I am so excited to be sharing some cards I created using my Misti and the Boho Flowers Mini Kit from Gina K. Designs.

Boho Flowers Mini Kit

To create my cards I used the contents of the Boho Flowers Mini Kit along with some pattern paper from the GKD Petite Patterns 6x6 Pure Luxury Paper Pack and a scallop border die.  You could use any border die or border punch that you may have in your stash to achieve the same idea.

Here's a quick look at how I created this card:

Step 1:
First I took a piece of card stock measuring 4 3/4" x 5 1/2" and secured it in my Misti.  Then I took the two flourishes from the kit and arranged them on the card stock before closing the lid.  You will then ink the images and close the door.

 Step 2:
If your impression isn't perfect with the first stamping you can re-ink and stamp again.  Personally, I like to stamp my images at least twice for that crisp stamped image.  (This is the amazing feature about the Misti and it has saved me TONS of time and card stock).

Step 3:
I then took the images I planned on cutting out with the coordinating die set and arranged them so I could stamp them all at once and die cut them.
(*Disclaimer...I planned on making more than one card so I switched over to my Mini Misti for this step.  You do not have to have more than one Misti but it is handy when mass producing a card).

Step 4:
Repeat Step 2 if needed.

Step 5:
Next, I needed to add the stamped portion of the sentiment.  For perfect placement I used the "L Piece" from the Creative Corners accessory.  This allows you to get perfect placement.

Step 6:
Assemble the card...
Use a top folding A2 white card base
Attached a 1" Strip of Pattern Paper to the right side of the card base
Attached the white stamped panel to Black Onyx Card Stock & attached scallop border.
Apply pop dots to stamped panel and attache to the card base.
You will then attach the "You" and "Flower".
Embellish as desired. (I used a combination of pearls and rhinestones)

For my final project I thought that I would take the same design and change it up a bit.  This time the flourishes and flower are all popped up with foam dots and the sentiment is stamped directly on the card panel.

Next up in the hop is the very talented...
