Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps + My Sweet Petunia Blog Hop

Hello and Welcome!

Today Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps is joining forces with My Sweet Petunia for an awesome blog hop and giveaway!  There's a chance to win a $50 gift code to each shop, so we hope you'll join the fun and hop along with us! To be eligible for the drawing, leave a little shout out in the comments at each stop along the hop.

For my project today I'm using the Mini Misti along with the NEW Back to School and School Days Alpha stamp sets.

First thing I like to do is load up my Mini Misti with the stamps I plan to use.  If you've never used one...this is a MUST HAVE tool and I will show you why.

I don't know about you but I was wasting a lot of paper when stamping with blocks and not getting a perfect inking.  I love having the ability to re-stamp an image.  I actually stamped the second one a total of three times as I wanted a crisp dark black image to color. You can also color your images and put it back in your Misti for a final stamp if you don't move any of the stamps on the door and line it back up.  I find this helpful when using color pencils as sometimes it will dull the inking.

Next I colored the images with copic markers and decided to create some fun Lunch Box Notes that you can tuck into your kids lunch boxes & backpacks to let them know that you are thinking of them.  They measure 3.75 Square.

To create the chalkboard background I stamped the "Aa" with embossing/watermark ink and heat embossed with detail white embossing powder.  I then took a white pigment ink pad and a swiffer cloth and applied the ink to the black card stock until I got the desired look.  I then took the images I colored and fussy cut them out.  I created the three cards below. These could also be made into a card set for a teacher gift.

  15. I love the idea of stamping out lunchbox notes for kids. A friend started that with her twin 7yos this year and it really filled a place in their hearts for encouragement that she didn't know they needed filled until she started doing it! Now she's trying to figure out how to keep it up! LOL! I may make a few cards to help her on the journey (I homeschool, and we only have one child, so I don't make nearly as many packed lunches as she does! LOL!) Thanks for the beautiful ideas!
