It's time for us to share the next Hues of Color over at the Color Hues Challenge Blog! I'm this weeks hostess and thought it would be fun to pick colors to get us thinking about "Christmas in July". Use Classic Christmas colors Red and Green for the next two weeks! We can't wait to see how you are inspired!
Here's my take...
For my creation I'm playing with Spellbinders NEW Home For the Holidays Collection which can be found HERE. I used the NEW Candy Canes and Holly (S4-1373), Delivering Joy Sleigh (S4-1358), Argyle Plaid 3D Embossing Folder (E3D-099) and a sentiment from the Mistletoe Greetings Press Plate & Die (BP-199) foiled with Gold Foil (GLF-014).
White A2 Top Fold Card Base: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" (4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2")
Red Velvet Embossed A2 Panel: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Candy Cane Focal Point: 3" x 4"
White Foiled Sentiment Banner: 3 1/4" x 3/8"
Steps to Create Card:
- Create White A2 Top Fold Card Base measuring:4 1/4" x 5 1/2" (4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2").
- Cut Red Velvet A2 Panel measuring: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". Emboss panel using Argyle Plaid 3D Embossing Folder (E3D-099). Ink blend around the edges of the panel with Red Velvet and Charcoal Brown (very light hand). Add Splatter White and sent panel aside to dry.
- Die Cut Candy Cane, Poinsettia and Greenery using Candy Canes and Holly (S4-1373) and Delivering Joy Sleigh (S4-1358) with Red Velvet, Fresh Asparagus, Jelly Bean Green card stock. Add ink blending highlights with Red Velvet and Fresh Asparagus ink.
- Glimmer "Christmas Greetings" Sentiment using Mistletoe Greetings Press Plate & Die (BP-199) foiled with Gold Foil (GLF-014).
- Assemble card.
- Embellish with Gold Pearls (Poinsettia Center) and Diamond Stitckles (Candy Cane Red Stripes).
