Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps | #SNSSCIJ0720

Hello Sweet Friends!

Sweet 'N Sassy Stamps kicks off their Christmas in July event today!  It will be taking place all weekend long!  Lots of fun to be had and a SALE!!

I'm hosting a Challenge over in our VIP Group!  I would love for you to stop by and play along!  There's also a PRIZE up for grabs!  You can find us HERE.

I created a card using the Christmas Poinsettia stamp set and a faux ink blended background technique.  I actually started off with a piece of red card stock.  I stamped and embossed the three poinsettias. I then used my blending brushes and ink blended with the coordinating red ink just around the edges of the card stock.  To make it a little richer I then added a touch of brown ink. I work on a glass mat and always start off the paper and work my way to the card stock. You can always add more but unfortunately can't remove it. I also find that by working on a glass mat there is no waste as you can pick up and use it.   You may have to repeat a few times until you get the look you desire.

I then embossed a sentiment on a piece of vellum and wrapped it around the card.  The gold mat was created by taking my embossing pad and running it around a piece of card stock and embossing with the same powder I used on the poinsettia. It's a way to stretch your supplies and get a perfect match at the same time.  As a final touch I added a few gold flat back pearls.

Card Measurements:
A2 Top Fold Card Base: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" (4 1/4" x 11", scored at 5 1/2")
Gold Mat: 4" x 5 1/4"
Red Layer: 3 13/16" x 5 1/16"
Vellum Belly Band: 4 1/2" x 1" (wrap around the red layer to prevent seeing adhesive)
